Dubs Alive Records is a San Francisco based label run by musician producers Dubsworth and Tapa. Beginning in late 2008, the group came together with the idea of curating music which combined Dubstep with live instruments. Featuring early heavyweights such as Jazzsteppa, Antiserum, 6BLOC, N-Type and DZ, Dubs Alive started from the roots of the sub low sound. The crew kept moving forward, with an overarching style that spoke strongly to the dancefloor and headphone listener alike. As the vision developed into a broader influence of tempos and modern styles, the dub roots rest consistently at the base. Often featuring live musicians, tunes from the label always tell a sound system influenced tale, testing the future waters of dub music. With producers hailing from across the world and physical mediums like vinyl and homemade dub sirens, the label is becoming a true champion of the roots bass vibe.
