ABOUT · MADE BY DIGGERS

About Recordz.

Recordz is a vinyl discovery app for record collectors and DJs. You swipe through records, hear previews, see the pressing and the price, and sync your Discogs collection and wantlist. It is free on iPhone, iPad and Android, made in Brooklyn, NY.

MANIFESTO

Algorithms killed the crate. We're bringing it back. A place where vibes taste lives, where a B-side from 1994 is worth more than a playlist of 50,000 streams.

WHAT IT DOES

What Recordz does.

Swipe through vinyl

A feed of records tuned to your taste. Flip through covers, save what you want, skip what you don't.

All features →

Hear it first

Previews play inline while you dig, so you judge the record, not the cover.

Know the pressing

Year, label, country, format and current marketplace price on every record, with a link to the real Discogs listing.

Sync with Discogs

Your Discogs collection and wantlist stay in sync both ways through Discogs' official API.

Follow curated lists

Editorial playlists by scene and mood, plus playlists from collectors you follow.

Browse playlists →

Find record stores

A hand-checked directory of shops in 16 cities with hours, directions and catalogs.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

What makes Recordz different.

Discovery, not cataloguing

Collection managers like VinylBox, Discographic and Spinstack are built to catalog the records you already own. Recordz is built to find the ones you don't, one record at a time, shaped by the genres, styles and eras you pick.

See how Recordz compares →

Hear it before you save it

Every card leads with a preview where one exists. In the official Discogs app, release videos sit further down each release page; in Recordz the preview is the first thing you get.

Saves land in Discogs

Sync runs both ways through Discogs' official API, so a record saved in Recordz is added to your Discogs wantlist. You don't keep a second catalog, and Discogs stays the source of truth.

The whole catalog, not one shop's stock

Swipe apps like Vinyl Swiper draw from the stock of a group of partner record stores. Recordz covers the full Discogs catalog, plus browsable stock from shops in its store directory.

Real record shops

A directory of 275 independent record stores across 16 cities, from Detroit to Tokyo, with hours, addresses and which shops have a catalog you can browse in the app.

WHO IT'S FOR

Collectors

People building a collection who want to know what they have, what it's worth and what's missing.

DJs

Diggers hunting specific pressings, remixes and B-sides, and checking prices before they buy.

The curious

Anyone who fell down the vinyl hole and wants a better way in than an algorithmic playlist.

HOW IT WORKS
  1. Download Recordz from the App Store or Google Play. The core app is free.
  2. Connect Discogs with one tap. Your collection and wantlist load into the app and stay in sync.
  3. Dig. Swipe the feed, hear previews, save records, follow lists and find stores near you.
  4. Go Pro when you want more. Unlimited saves, playlist sharing, new-release alerts and a Pro profile badge for $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year. Compare plans.
VALUES

What we stand for.

01

Taste over algorithm

We believe a record collection is a self-portrait. We don't flatten your taste into a recommendation engine. We put you in the room with people who actually give a damn.

02

The pressing matters

An original press from 1974 is not the same as a 2012 reissue. Every record links to its exact pressing on Discogs, with every variant, country and matrix number a tap away. Details matter.

03

Built by diggers

The team behind Recordz are collectors, DJs and music obsessives first. Everything we build starts from a personal frustration or a late-night record store conversation.

04

Open ecosystem

We build on Discogs and send you to independent record stores. We're not trying to replace the ecosystem — we're trying to make it easier to live in.

Who is Recordz for?

Record collectors, DJs and crate diggers who buy vinyl and already keep a Discogs collection or wantlist, or want to start one.
