District 6 is a record label and publishing company established in 2007, brought to you by the people behind the ephemeral Ether Music. Between the two directors, Paul Vials (Acid Jazz, Mean Fiddler, Ether Music) and Ed Ashcroft (Stern's Music, Ether Music) are some 25 years of combined experience of the music industry.

Also known as District 6 Music Publishing, with a catalogue of almost 20,000 compositions and some 2000 leading composers, producers and artists across a diverse range of genres includes UK folk legend Roy Harper, US hip- hop super-producer Just Blaze, original Black Sabbath member Geezer Butler plus Murcof, Dwele, James Curd, John Foxx and Harold Budd.

There is a French sister company based in Paris (District 6 France) signing and developing local writers and artists and allowing reciprocal collection agreements with each other.
