Music concert/booking agency founded in 1981 by music promoter and ex-marijuana smuggler, Gary Tovar (b. 1952). After his arrest and imprisonment in 1991, Paul Tollett (b. 1965) and Rick Van Santen (1962—2003), Tovar's business partners, took over Goldenvoice. In 1999, the company launched an acclaimed Coachella Music Festival. In March 2001, it was acquired by AEG Live.
