Originally founded as a direct-to-consumer music club, Integrity Music was an outgrowth of , a media company known for publishing the New Wine Magazine. In 1985, they began offering a "Tape Ministry" subscription through advertisements in the magazine. The program - known as - included a full-length, high quality Praise & Worship album every six to eight weeks. As the magazine eventually came to an end and the music club saw exponential growth, they refocused the organization as Integrity Music. The company quickly grew into Christian music’s biggest producer of Praise & Worship resources, which included tapes, CDs, songbooks, videos and choral products.
