About

Deepfried is an underground American electronic music record label founded in 1996 in Grand Rapids, Michigan by techno pioneer, producer and DJ Marvin Ramirez, better known by his primary alias Kikoman.

Launched during the mid-to-late 1990s wave of Midwest techno, the label became a vehicle for Marvin Ramirez's distinctively raw, minimal, and wobbly techno and tech-house sound.

While predominantly a home for Kikoman's various aliases (like Children Of Night and Juneau), Deepfried also issued releases from other prominent techno artists such as Fanon Flowers, Mark Verbos and Dietrich Schoenemann.

The label primarily used Acme Vinyl Corporation and Archer Record Pressing for manufacturing and Intellinet for distribution.

Ramirez would later go on to launch another conceptually driven electronic imprint, Rhumba Muzik, in 2002.
