Start Klart began its operations with Sonerud releasing its own records under the label. In the 1980s, the company released folk, blues, roots, avant-garde and children's records. The first commercial successes were achieved with Svenne Rubin's Långa bollar på Bengt and Folköl and dunka dunka. Since then, the company has collaborated with artists such as Traste Lindens Kvintett, Iggesundsgänget, Sigge Hill, Rally, Hjalle & Heavy, Ronny Eriksson, Brandsta City Släckers, Sarek, Engmans Kapell, After Dark, Östen med Resten, Ola & Potatisarna, Hälsinge Fyr, Hajen, Perssons Pack, Dökött, Provins, Missbrukarna, Sofia Rapp Johansson, Selma&Gustav, Stefan Sundström, Per Myrberg, Magnus Carlsson and Glada Hudikteatern. The humor group Småstadsliv collaborated with Per Sonerud from 2009 to 2015, which resulted in tours and a few feature films.

From 2015, Start Klart changed its operations and Per Sonerud began to focus on his own career as an artist.
