was the brainchild of Mikel Hooks, brother of Duffy Hooks III, founder of Los Angeles Premier Rap Label, The , Street People Record Co. is most famous for Ronnie Hudson's "West Coast Poplock" released in 1982. Street People is Still owned by Mikel Hooks & is Co-Administered by Lee "DJ Flash" Johnson who in 2017 purchased Street People Records & Rappers Rapp Records, were based in Hollywood, California and brainstormed in 1981 by Mikel & Duffy Hooks III. After RRDC's first release in 1981 "The Gigolo Rapp" by Disco Daddy & Captain Rapp, Duffy held a Rap Contest at VIP Records on Crenshaw Blvd.. The winner was to receive a recording Contract. At the end of the day , Duffy Announced 6 Winners. The Rappers Rap Group consisted of five of L.A's top rappers MC Fosty, Lovin C, King MC, Macker-Moe, Mr Ice and DJ Flash A - DJ & Rapper from Taft California. There first release was "Rappers Rapp Theme" recorded Nov. 9th 1981 .Shortly thereafter in 1982. Mikel Hooks Conceived , Produced & Co-wrote Ronnie Hudson's "West Coast Poplock" which stayed on 1580 KDAYs top 10 list for 18 weeks. .One year later Duffy & Rich Cason published "Year 2001 Boogie" on Rappers Rapp. With this record the style changed from the typical old school rap to an electronic wave sound with vocoder and rap.
