English independent label based in London. Founded by Mike Alway in 1984, after he left Blanco Y Negro.
On the first six releases, he was supported by Les Disques Du Crépuscule with manufacturing and distribution, so these éL releases are on the Él Benelux label.

Became a sub-label of Cherry Red Records in 1986.
Alway left in 1989 after a disagreement with Cherry Red Records boss Iain McNay over recording a band comprised of children singing songs written by their fathers, and the label was closed.

In 2005, it was revived as a reissue label.
