Australian label founded in 1989 by Jason Reynolds (5) in Melbourne which includes music ranging from rock to electronic. Reynolds started working for Sub Pop in 1995 and relocated Summershine to Seattle in 1994, where Sup Pop also took care of manufacturing and distribution, becaming kind of a sublabel. The last release was in 1998.

With the move also the numbering of the releases changed. The last release in Australia was "shine 48cd" (). From there the catalogue number reflected the change of location, e.g. "shine-us 3" (). The first releases in the US contained a small fyler, informing about the move (see pictures).
