PES = the acronym of publisher "Productions et Éditons Sonores" based in Paris circa 1971 to 1973. The company, owned by one Didier Appert, existed as a publisher, label and manufacturer.

PES the label issued a few pop singles and LPs of traditional and ethnic/world music.
was its label for underground and non-mainstream music.
issued instrumental and illustration music (some with library style presentation).

As a publisher P.E.S. or Editions P.E.S. may be found on releases. Also the PES logo can be found on a few Pathé releases. PES numbers (i.e. PES 301.1??, or similar) are on most PES and Connection (and some Pathé) labels. Generally these are not label references and should be entered in the "BaOI" as Matrix numbers.
