About
American flutist, composer, conductor, and educator. Born 1950 in Toledo, Ohio, he studied at the Oberlin Conservatory, the University of Iowa, and the Yale School of Music. In 1972, 1973 and 1974, he received BMI Awards to Student Composers, and in 1976 received a Charles Ives Award from the National Institute of Arts and Letters. From 1974 to 1976, he worked at the lnstituut voor Sonologie in Utrecht, Holland. He teaches at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
