Attended the School of Music no. 3 of Bucharest, where he studied piano. At the advice of his father, Doru Caplescu attended the "Dinu Lipatti" Music High School in Bucharest (classes VI-XII), from which he graduated in 1976.
Since 1975, Entertainment Doru Căplescu begin to work with .
1979, debuted on a single album, with Adina Dumitriu, realizing orchestration and piano accompaniment.
1976-1977, he worked with band "Unit 1708", specialized in covers.
