Swedish rock band formed in Stockholm in 1999.

For the Flying Lotus project, use Captain Murphy (2).

In January 2004, the band recorded their debut album. They would have preferred to have Nicke Andersson from The Hellacopters as producer, but he did not have time and instead suggested Chips Kiesbye, who took on the task in a hurry. The self-titled debut album was released in April of the same year and features clear influences from artists such as Blue Cheer, Vanilla Fudge and Grand Funk Railroad. A second album called Human Cannonball was released in 2007.

Captain Murphy has toured with major bands such as Backyard Babies and Norwegian Gluecifer.

Captain Murphy is now divided and the members play with and in other bands.
