The rave has a bright future ahead with the arrival of Cuften. Funny geek, true machines’ lover and sound hacks’ ge- nius, the producer deconstructs the rave aesthetic and old school sounds with his futuristic and unique vision.

Activist since the 90s, Cuften first started as a hardcore dj in free parties, before collecting old synthesizers and tinkering with his own production tools to deliver music that comes from his gut, spontaneous, frontal and 100% analog, like his live machines which he orchestrates with overflowing energy, camouflaged behind his shifting hair at the whim of his snares, kicks and drums.

With the creation of his label Purusu on which he released 4 EP’s, Cuften quickly made a place for himself in the Parisian underground scene, with the support of artists like Manu Le Malin (alongside whom he performed at Concrete), Umwelt , Ed Isar, AZF or 14Anger, and Parisian collectives Qui Embrouille Qui, Subtyl or Vernacular, whose dancefloors has been burnt by his energy.

Since then, Cuften has been making great releases, with an EP on Tripalium in 2019 and a track on Minimum Syndicat called « Canal Energy » in 2020. He’s making a big entrance in 2021 with a new EP, « Solar Ashes » on Marc Acardipane’s imprint, Planet Phuture. A 5-track EP with his contagious rave signature : evil electro, old school synths and abrasive textures. A new A/V live show is in the pipeline, in collaboration with Datatura and his old TV set design between retrogaming and back to the future for a totally immersive, explosive and colourful combo in the analog and 90’s universe of Cuften.
