About

H.W.A. ("Hoez With Attitude" / "Hoes Wit Attitude") was a short lived 90s American all-female Hip-hop trio formed in Chicago by the Kenner sisters. The group's name was a take on N.W.A (Niggaz With Attitude). Known for their sexually explicit lyrics & provocative imagery, H.W.A. (along with their contemporaries BWP (2) aka "Bytches With Problems") were female pionneers of the now-democratized "dirty rap" hip hop subgenre.

Formed in 1989, split up in 1994. In 2012, the original band members briefly reunited to launch a new version of the band called "The New H.W.A." featuring the daughters of the Kenner sisters. They appeared in a passing of the torch music video for a new song called "Trouble," in which Kim "Baby Girl" Kenner can be heard rapping at the end of the track. That iteration of the band failed to attract interest after releasing only one single on youtube. In 2025, the Kenner sisters announced on their social medias an upcoming autobiographical book titled "Decade of Game", a podcast, and a movie, but none of them have yet materialized.
The original members were rappers Kim "Baby Girl" Kenner (leader & main writer) & her sister Tanya "Jazzy" Kenner, with the addition of a DJ named Dion "Diva D" Devoux. For their subsequent & last EP "Az Much Ass Azz U Want", Diva D was replaced by "Go-Di". When Go-Di left the group, Babygirl & Jazz tried out Ty James (the daughter of the legendary Rick James) as a third member, but it ultimately didn’t work out (Ty consequently does not appear on any H.W.A. records) and Go-Di was eventually replaced by a member named "KiKi".
The group made a cameo appearance in Eazy-E's "Real Muthaphuckkin G's", a "diss" song to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.
