Goto80 works with music, text, art and research, often relating to low-tech and handmade “digital” aesthetics. Influenced by the demoscene subculture, he started making chipmusic in the 1990s and have since released records and toured Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania.

He is especially interested in text-based visuals (ASCII, PETSCII, etc) and collaborated with coders, animators, VJs and video producers and created his own text graphics.

He is an independent researcher and have published texts about the demoscene, chipmusic and text graphics since 2008. He run text-mode.org and is currently exploring the history of music software.
