Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Debbie was one of first female members of Parliament-Funkadelic with Jeanette Washington in 1976. Joined Jeanette and Mahlia Franklin in Parlet in 1978. Left the group the same year before the group's first album was released.

Before leaving in '78, she appeared on most of George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic's biggest hit records including (1975).
