English singer, born 8 August 1974 in London, England.

Harvey joined East 17 in 1991. He was initially intended to serve as a backing vocalist and dancer, but became the group's principal lead vocalist after his vocals were heard during the band's early recording sessions. He subsequently sang lead vocals on much of East 17's best-known material, including "It's Alright", "Around The World", "Steam", "Thunder" and "Stay Another Day".

Harvey was dismissed from East 17 in 1997 following controversial comments made during a radio interview. In 1998 he reunited with Terry Coldwell and John Hendy, without Tony Mortimer, and the group continued under the name E-17. The trio released the album "Resurrection" in 1998, with Harvey taking a more prominent role in the group's songwriting. He was among the writers of the singles "Each Time" and "Betcha Can't Wait". E-17 subsequently disbanded in 1999.

Harvey then pursued a solo career. In 2000 he appeared as a featured vocalist, alongside Donell Jones, on the True Steppers single "True Step Tonight", which reached No. 25 on the UK Singles Chart. He subsequently signed with Edel Records and released "Straight Up (No Bends)" in 2001, reaching No. 26 in the UK. This was followed by "Loving You (Olé Olé Olé)", credited to Brian Harvey And The Refugee Crew, which reached No. 20. His solo album "Solo" was released in various territories in 2001 and 2002.

Harvey reunited with the original East 17 line-up for a one-off concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire, London, on 30 May 2006. He subsequently continued performing with Terry Coldwell and John Hendy as East 17.

In 2007 Harvey competed in "Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up", the United Kingdom's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song "I Can". He was eliminated in the first round. Further solo and guest recordings include "Going Backwardz" (2010) and collaborations with other artists in subsequent years.
