Brazilian seminal progressive rock band formed in Santos, São Paulo, in 1973, founded by (guitar), (acoustic guitar) and (flute). The group became one of the pioneers of the Brazilian prog scene, blending classic elements with folk and acoustic sounds.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s the band gained national exposure - signed exclusively to the (Gravações Tupi Associadas) label they regularly appeared on major radio and television broadcasts. Their 1977 debut album - - remains a highly sought-after holy grail for progressive rock collectors worldwide.

By the late 1980s, the band expanded its reach globally, distributing records in Europe and Japan. Their international acclaim led to awards in France (1994) and Norway (1996), culminating in an official invitation from the Brazilian Embassy in France for a concert in Paris in 1997. This milestone made RVM the first Brazilian progressive rock band to officially perform in Europe.

Throughout its extensive history, the band underwent several lineup changes that sustained its continuity:

- 1974: The founding trio was joined by Jair Freitas (vocals, acoustic guitar), João Paulo (bass), and João Luiz Ferreira Alves Teixeira, aka "Boi" (Hammond organ).

- 1975–1978: (bass), (drums), (violin), Lee (, on keyboards) and vocalists Sula Miranda, Elisa, and .

- 1979: joined on keyboards.

- 1980–1982: took over on drums. This era recorded the tracks that would later make up the side A of 's release.

- 1988–1989: Chiquinho Gomes on bass.

- 1990–1993: A core return featuring , , , (Gui), and Lima.

- 1994–1997: (keyboards), (bass), Nelson Sachetto (sax/clarinet), alongside violinists Henrique Basilio and .

- 1998–1999: (bass) and (drums), who participated in the 1999 re-recordings of the material.

- In the 2000s, musicians (bass) and (drums) joined to record the album , released by in 2006 under the band's acronym/alias .
