Rui Travasso, originally from Évora, holds a degree in
Clarinet, a postgraduate degree in classical performance,
a master’s degree in music teaching, and a doctorate
in Digital Media Art from the Universidade Aberta in
association with the University of Algarve. As a free-
lancer, he has played with various Portuguese orchestras
and recorded albums with Primitive Reason, Quarteto
Con’tradição, Mara, Catarina Pinho, Joana Amendoeira
and Hespérides Trio. He has also recorded several solo
albums, notably his solo album “Letters From Quaran-
tine,” released by Odradek Records in 2021. His works
have been featured in various exhibitions, including a
partnership with Museu Zer0 as part of the Magalhães
project. He was a member of the Orquestra do Algarve
between 2013 and 2024, serving as soloist A. Nowadays
is an adjunct professor at the Polytechnic Institute of
Beja. Rui Travasso is a Yamaha and D’Addario Artist.
