True Love was an American straight edge hardcore band from Syracuse, New York, featuring members of Another Victim, One King Down, and Conviction. The band formed in the summer of 2001, immediately after Another Victim broke up for the second time (True Love's line-up was identical to Another Victim's 2000-2001 line-up, with the addition of guitarist Jim Winters). After recording a demo and getting signed to Equal Vision Records, the band's name was changed to The Promise, and the demo was re-issued under the new name with the updated title My True Love through Deathwish.
