Some Velvet Morning are a North London–formed alternative rock band known for their anthemic sound and wide-reaching sync success across film, television, and advertising. Formed in the mid-2000s by brothers Desmond Lambert (vocals, guitar) and Gavin Lambert (bass, vocals), alongside drummer Rob Flanagan, the group developed a style blending 1980s British pop influences such as Depeche Mode and Tears for Fears with the classic rock textures of Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd.

Their debut album, 'Silence Will Kill You' (2007), produced by Rik Simpson, yielded the singles “Losing My Mind” and “Propaganda” and earned a nomination for Radio X Album of the Year. The band gained international recognition when “How To Start A Revolution,” from their second album Allies, was featured in the trailer for Kick-Ass and later in major European advertising campaigns for Renault and Aprilia. This exposure led to further sync placements and helped drive a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised £100,000 in six weeks to support the release of 'Allies'.

The album expanded their audience internationally, particularly in France, where it achieved national radio play and festival appearances. In the UK, their music became widely used across sports broadcasting, featuring on outlets such as BBC’s Match of the Day, Five Live, and TalkSport. In 2016, the band adopted an unconventional release strategy, issuing one single per month, later compiled into their third album, 'Musical Chairs'. This period also saw continued sync success, with placements for brands including Pull & Bear and Haig Club, as well as contributions to The Grand Tour and the film 'Kat and the Band'. Live performances during this era included headline shows at London’s Roundhouse and Scala.

Their fourth album, Rough Seas, was shaped in part during a prolonged stay in Westport, Ireland. Released in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it introduced subtle Celtic influences while maintaining the band’s signature anthemic sound. Tracks such as “Good to See You” gained prominence through sports coverage, including the UEFA Euro 2020 broadcasts, while “Ghosts” featured in the film 'Love Without Walls'. Some Velvet Morning will release their fifth album, 'Tell The Summer Hang On', in June 2026.
